2. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

5. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

7. Sport coaching expertise goes international in Malta

   International specialists in the field of sport coaching at LJMU visited Malta earlier this month as they delivered face-to-face teaching components of the inaugural postgraduate programme.

   Singsongs, card games and radio shows would not normally be part of a History degree unless you are lucky enough to be taught by lecturer Lucinda Matthews-Jones, that is.

9. Sport science students make an impact with nearly 15,000 hours of placements

   From community sports clubs that support people with special educational needs to premier league football clubs, 173 students have undertaken 14,730 hours of work-based placements this academic year.

10. International learning experience at Virtual Global Citizens Conference 2020

    Delegates from all round the world participated in the LJMU Virtual Global Citizens Conference between 11-12 November 2020. They discussed seven adapted UN Sustainable Development Goals.
