1. Updated Research Degrees Framework 2024/25

   Updates have been made to various regulations and policies that underpin the university’s Research Degrees Framework.

2. REF 2021 Consideration for Individual Circumstances

   As part of the University's commitment to supporting equality and diversity in the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), we have put in place safe and supportive structures for eligible academic staff to declare information about any equality-related circumstances that may have affected their ability to research productively during the assessment period (1 January 2014 - 31 December 2020), and particularly their ability to produce research outputs at the same rate as staff not affected by circumstances.

4. Healthcare framework proposed to improve health of ageing populations

   An LJMU researcher is part of an international team of researchers who have put forward a position statement, published in Science, which lays out a new healthcare framework to help ageing populations stay healthier for longer.

5. Framework for Academic Quality and Standards Policy update

   This staff policy has had a minor amendment.

6. Academic Framework Regulations updates for new academic year

   Two policies have been updated, one for undergraduate and one for postgraduate programmes.

7. LJMU rated highly in Teaching Excellence Framework

   LJMU has been awarded a gold rating for student outcomes and silver overall in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

8. LJMU submits 600 academics to Research Excellence Framework 2021

   On March 25, the University hands over its best research to the 2021 Research Exercise Framework, the REF. With more than 600 academics put forward and dozens more colleagues behind the scenes, the REF is arguably the largest project undertaken by the university community.

9. World Mental Health Day: LJMU outlines commitment to mental health and suicide prevention

   Thursday 10 October is World Mental Health Day and LJMU is raising awareness of all aspects of mental health and wellbeing, including suicide prevention, by outlining the support and resources available at the university for students and staff.
