1. Open Research Week 2022

   Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University libraries are delighted to announce our programme for Open Research Week 2022, taking place from 14th-17th February 2022. There are 8 events over 4 days. All will take place over Microsoft Teams and each session can be booked individually. All events will be recorded; if you are unable to attend but are interested in the content, please sign up and the recording will be sent out to you in due course.

2. Staff event at Student Life Building

   Our next staff open day at the Student Life Building takes place on Wednesday 24 November, with networking opportunities, a chance to find out more about the building and its services, plus a free lunch.

3. Research and Innovation Day Invites Entries to Scholarly Snaps Competition

   The competition for scholarly snaps will take place again at this year's Research and Innovation Day on Wednesday 19th June. To be a part of this competition please submit your pictures by Wednesday 5th June.

4. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) – 17th May 2021

   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) aims to raise awareness of discrimination and violence against people within the LGBTIQ+ community, to drive positive change.

5. Transgender Remembrance Day: Gender identity, trans-awareness and policing

   Our EDI team caught up with Christian Owens, founder of GenderSpace, to discuss gender identity, trans- awareness and policing for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

6. World Mental Health Day

   World Mental Health Day is observed annually on 10 October with the main objective of raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilising efforts in support of mental health.

7. World AIDS Day - 1st December 2019

   World AIDS Day takes place on 1st December each year.

8. World Mental Health Day 2019

   World Mental Health Day on October the 10th is the annual global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Throughout the week starting Monday 7th– Friday 11th October LJMU Student Advice and Wellbeing Services will be delivering a range of activities and raising awareness to celebrate good mental health and encourage us all to look at what we can do to maintain and promote positive wellbeing.

9. International Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination

   To mark the day, Marie Hie, JMSU's Black and Asian Minority Ethic Student Officer, talks about LJMU's reciprocal mentoring scheme and how we can all contribute to reducing inequalities

10. Graduation review: Thursday 21 November 2019

    Day two of graduation week saw more than 750 students receive their awards across two ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.
