  1. Sports, societies and communities

    At LJMU, you’ll do more than study! Explore a variety of sports teams, clubs, and societies. There’s something for everyone, no matter your interests.

  2. Social behaviour, ecology and conservation

    Our interest lies in the evolution of animal societies and the interactions that occur within these societies and their link to emotion, cognition and communication. We primarily study primates (including humans) but also other species including birds. Find out more about the Social Behaviour, Ecology and Conservation Research Group's work, collaborations, publications and meet the research team.

  3. The Centre for Modern and Contemporary History

    Established in 2022, the Centre for Modern and Contemporary History (CMCH) supports the research of LJMU's historians, strengthens our partnerships with museums and historical societies and creates opportunities for new collaborations with researchers and historical institutions locally, nationally and internationally.

  4. Clodagh McErlean

    Clodagh is the 2022/23 Liverpool John Moores Students’ Union (JMSU) Vice President for Activities and through her ‘Challenge Clodagh’ initiative, is improving access and representation across student sports teams and societies.

  5. Study Sociology

    The Department of Sociology at LJMU offers students a unique opportunity to undertake contemporary and critical programmes of study. Our taught degrees combine a friendly, supportive atmosphere with challenging and stimulating study, which build on our expertise, research strengths and areas of specialism.

  6. Dr Sasha Kosanic

    Dr Sasha Kosanic is an interdisciplinary scientist whose research focuses on answering complex questions about climate change and the impact it is having on nature and societies. She is also an advocate for inclusion in education, as a former Paralympian and a scientist living with Cerebral Palsy, she looks to highlight inequalities wherever she finds them and to drive forwards change in research and academia.
