International Relations and Politics Virtual Session

Thursday 23 May 2024, 11am to 12pm

Staff from LJMU’s International Relations and Politics programme are hosting a virtual session for Level 3 students interested in programmes related to politics. The session will introduce the team and discuss many exciting things that we offer on the programme, including field trips, course options, and additional events. We will also engage in the discussion of current pressing issues in the field and delve into the various ways in which we can make sense of politics and international relations.

In addition, the event will introduce the new BA (Hons) Politics, Philosophy and Economics programme which will begin in September 2025.

English Literature and Creative Writing Taster Day

Tuesday 4 June 2024, 10am to 3pm

LJMU's English department are hosting an event for Year 12 students interested in English Literature and Creative Writing programmes.

This event will support the #EnglishCreates campaign to champion, defend and expand access to the study of literature in English. You can find out more about the campaign here.

Students attending the event will take part in a range of workshops related to literature and writing as well as experience a campus tour and meet current students. Lunch will be provided.

Students can register individually.

Policing and Criminal Justice Taster Day

Tuesday 25 June 2024, 10am to 2pm

LJMU's School of Justice Studies are offering a taster day on campus on Tuesday 25 June for year 12 students interested in Policing routes or courses in Criminal Justice.

The event will give students the opportunity to visit the crime labs at LJMU, engage in workshops on Policing, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice programmes, meet staff from Merseyside Police and speak to current LJMU students from the school. Lunch will be provided.

Students can register individually.

Teacher and Careers Advisor Information Day

Friday 28 June 2024, 9.15am to 4pm

Liverpool John Moores University is running a teacher and advisor event that combines general information and advice on admissions, student support and provides tours of our facilities. You will also be given the opportunity to discuss how LJMU can work with your school or college to support curriculum areas.

How to Succeed in the Media and Creative Industries

In its 9th year, this event will be of interest to anyone who wishes to study or have a career in the Media (Journalism, Television, Film, Online, Digital Media Platforms) in technical, creative or production roles.

Hear from, and network with, our panel of guest speakers from across the media industry who will be sharing their experiences and tips on how to succeed in this competitive industry.

Policing experience day at the Emergency Services Training Centre

Tuesday 2 July 2024

LJMU and the ESTC have partnered to offer an exciting day of hands-on policing activities to develop your skills and challenge your preconceptions about policing. If you are interested in becoming a police officer, you must attend this event!

The event is free of charge, lunch is provided, and travel will be subsidised.

To participate in this event, you must be aged over 18 and meet Merseyside Police’s eligibility requirements. Priority will be given to applicants who are female; Black, Asian or minority ethnic; have a disability.
