Business Analytics Educators Forum
The Business Analytics Educators Forum (BAEF) is a vibrant community dedicated to advancing Business Analytics (BA) education across various disciplines.
Established in June 2021 after a presentation by Christina J. Phillips at the CABS LTSE 21 conference, the forum emerged from a shared commitment to inclusive learning in modern business schools.
In today's data-driven society, the ability to interpret and utilize data is increasingly important. Educators face challenges in determining the best timing, methods, and content for delivering BA education, given the diverse skill sets and backgrounds of learners and the dynamic needs of business. BAEF seeks to address these challenges by facilitating discussions and creating materials accessible to educators, students, and practitioners. The goal is to establish a broad consensus on defining and delivering BA education across the sector and to provide a forum for discussion.
Since its inception, BAEF has hosted discussions on diverse subjects, including storytelling and peer-led learning in pedagogy, designing BA Master's programs, integrating Business Intelligence into accounting curricula, and examining AI applications in industry. These sessions aim to cover a wide range of subjects in BA education and its practical implications.
The forum comprises a diverse group of professionals from academia and industry, including mathematicians, operational researchers, accounting scholars, business educators, and AI/analytics experts. This diversity enriches the dialogue and contributes to a holistic and inclusive approach to BA education.
