As use of AI grows and new applications emerge, so do questions around its ethics. What are the ethical dilemmas which have emerge? How do we use AI for good? What examples are there and how do we learn more about these issues? In these LASER Talks we explore these issues from a number of perspectives including crises facing the arts sector, inclusion and the environment. Proposed solutions owe much to games culture in terms of audiences and interactive experiences. New audiences can be reached with new meaningful experiences, marginalised groups can use AI to reach beyond their challenges and entirely new approaches to protecting the natural world can emerge.
The Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair takes place on Thursday 10 October 2024, featuring 70+ employers from across all courses and disciplines in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

We are delighted to welcome international representatives from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) to join in this important conversation, as part of their 140th year celebrations. The aim of this event is to bring together key stakeholders from the university, industry, government and accreditation bodies to start the conversation on this topic and consider next steps in our goal to work with stakeholders to lead the way for diversity and inclusion in engineering and technology skills in the North West. There is an exciting opportunity to meet and network with industry and academic leaders.
