   Disability History Month runs between 16 November and 16 December 2023 and it is an opportunity to reflect on the past and create positive change for the present and the future.

7. Astronomers catch Tatooine multiple star system as it forms

   For the first time astronomers, including Dr Richard Parker, of the Astrophysics Research Institute at LJMU, have caught a multiple-star system as it is created, and their observations are providing new insight into how such systems, and possibly the solar system, are formed. The amazing images taken from a series of telescopes on Earth show clouds of gas which are in the process of developing into stars.

8. International tourism management students gain industry insight at airport visit

   Second year international tourism management students were given a tour of Liverpool John Lennon Airport earlier this month to gain insight into the operational and strategic challenges of managing one of the fastest growing airports in Europe.

9. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

10. LJMU community takes to the streets for Liverpool Pride 2023

    Over 130 students, staff and alumni joined the Liverpool City Region Pride March at the weekend.
