   Researchers have found that wild chimpanzees may copy each other’s gestures to maintain their complex social relationships.

4. New service connecting LJMU’s student talent to Merseyside business gets underway

   As a major development towards LJMU’s goal of more readily matching student and graduate talent to the needs of Merseyside businesses, we have entered into an agreement with Unitemps to establish a specialist recruitment service for the region.

5. Your new Academic Staff Governor Caroline Wilkinson

   Following a fortnight-long election period, Caroline received the majority of votes out of the eight self-nominated candidates and will now serve on the Board for the next three years.

6. Academic Staff Governor Elections

   Following the call for nominations, eight candidates are standing for election, with the election period opening on Monday 5 June and running until Monday 19 June.

7. January exams to be moved online

   We have made the decision to move all examinations scheduled from 4th January online

8. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

   LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.

9. LJMU supports law students as host of national speed mooting competition

   School of Law students from LJMU, alongside those attending from other universities, took part in the mooting events, presenting their verbal arguments and putting their knowledge to the test that they’ve learnt during their studies.

10. Archbishop of Canterbury receives Honorary Fellowship and delivers Roscoe Lecture

    The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby received an LJMU Honorary Fellowship and also delivered one of the University's acclaimed Roscoe Lectures at St George’s Hall.
