At LJMU we’re changing the way we consume and produce goods to ensure an increased focus on sustainability. The concept of sustainability has influenced our curriculum, with students having the opportunity to learn about sustainable production in existing modules. Our research and knowledge exchange efforts have also helped to revolutionise material production as far afield as Bangladesh and the Philippines.

LJMU plays an important role in supporting the sustainability of the Liverpool City Region. We’ve worked hard to champion green and sustainable travel through the Smart Green Journey app and our Sustainable Green Travel Corridors initiative. Collaborations with industry has also seen the development of cutting-edge road surfaces. We’re stiving to achieve net zero by 2035, in line with the United Nations goal to reduce warming by 1.5°C.
Courteney is an English graduate who became a mum while studying at LJMU. She went on to receive a prize as one of the top students thanks to her grit and determination to obtain her degree.

We deliver real-world solutions to the football community. Our areas of interest within football include: fitness and nutrition, psychology, match analysis, physical activity, skill acquistion and coaching, and performance analysis.
The research seminar series of the Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour (RCBB) showcases current work of researchers from all areas of brain and behavioural sciences.
We are making strides to investigate affordable and clean energy solutions, and this is reflected across our teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities. We have forged partnerships with industry to test and develop new technologies such as biogas production, we are exploring green technologies through our exemplar houses, and we are working in Japan and Malaysia to ensure electric vehicles (EVs) remain low-carbon cars.
