Every year, researchers from ART LABS publish over 50 publications. Staff create publications within a number of key disciplines, including: contemporary art, 3D digital art, the uses of art and cultural enrichment, exhibitions and curatorship, as well as design discourse and practice.
Established in 2016 and based in the Liverpool School of Art and Design, the Institute of Art and Technology enhances artistic research and technologies.
Academics at the Institute of Art and Technology undertake a variety of high-impact projects that relate to the Centre’s core research themes.
The Astrophysics Research Institute is interested in star formation, stellar evolution, time-domain astrophysics, galaxy formation and clusters, dynamics and evolution. Our aim is to become an internationally recognised centre of excellence in astrophysics. Through the fields of palaeoanthropology, bioarchaeology, palaeogenetics, evolutionary genetics and human biology - we study human variation. Discover more about human variation and adaptability, the projects we are currently working on, read our papers, and meet the researchers.
At the Public Health Institute we provide advice to policymakers in consideration of the relationship between the environment and public health. Projects include: the use of parks, climate change, economic benefits of green infrastructure and evaluation of green projects for the community.
Our research is applicable to clinical and sport and exercise biomechanics. Our focus includes: musculo-skeletal growth and development, gait analysis, virtual rehabilitation, postural stability, footwear biomechanics, and artificial neural networks.
Shot Under the Volcano is a new multimedia installation by John Hyatt and the design agency, Uniform, at the Bluecoat and Sensor City inspired by Malcolm Lowry's 'Under the Volcano'.
