1. Academic Staff Governor Elections

   Following the call for nominations, eight candidates are standing for election, with the election period opening on Monday 5 June and running until Monday 19 June.

2. Briefing sessions for professorship and readership conferment

   Colleagues who wish to apply to the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 can now book a place on our briefing sessions.

3. Additional workshops available for leaders and managers

   The Organisational Development teams’ LJMU Leadership Enhancement And Development (LEAD) programme has added another two workshop sessions.

4. Support for transgender and non-binary students

   We now have dedicated information on our student support webpages, for transgender and non-binary students, to find out how to get help and support while at university, as well as requesting a name change via LJMU.

5. LJMU provides largest numbers of tutors in Merseyside

   LJMU students, paid £21 per hour to support local primary schools

6. TLC 2020 - one week left to submit your session idea

   Submissions are still invited from staff and students and collaborative partner institutions, as well as other colleagues working in post-16 education.

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about improving gender diversity and will offer tips on how to obtain a top leadership roles and how to promote gender diversity in senior positions.

   The discovery of a virtually complete Neanderthal skeleton in Northern Iraq is set to reopen the debate about whether our closest ancient human relatives buried their dead.

   A GENETIC test developed at LJMU could have a dramatic effect on how the UK polices illegal fishing.

10. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

    After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.
