1. New Executive Director appointed to Liverpool's 'Sensor City'

   Find out more about the newly appointed Executive Director of Sensor City, a collaborative venture to drive high tech business growth.

2. Confidential Waste Policy update

   The updated policy includes further information on disposing of small amounts of confidential waste in confidential waste bins across the university and on how you can order secure bags for larger quantities.

3. New financial wellbeing support for staff

   The university is introducing several new financial wellbeing measures to support staff during this challenging financial period.

4. Artificial Intelligence to give new access to 500-year-old manuscripts

   Ground-breaking computational methods will be used by a team of researchers to advance the access of historical collections and study the history of Early Colonial Mexico.

5. All You Need is GaP

   Just a reminder that all externally funded projects must be both registered (a GaP project created) and costed on our Grants and Projects (GaP) system from 1st July 2020.

6. NSS 2023: LJMU delivering an excellent student experience

   LJMU has performed well in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2023. The Office for Students (OfS) has published the survey results, which paint a positive picture of the LJMU student experience, while helping us to identify some areas for improvement.

7. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

8. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

9. New workplace milk initiative

   Staff can now order milk through Catering Services for their team to collect once a week.

10. Get Trained on GaP

    All grant funded projects and knowledge exchange projects must be recorded on the GaP system from April 2020
