1. Bicentenary year gets underway

   As our 200th year gets underway, we are excited to celebrate with you, our students and our staff, and there will be opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved.

2. LJMU to support 80th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of the Atlantic

   Eighty years on from victory in the Atlantic, LJMU is set to commemorate Liverpool’s contributions to the Battle of the Atlantic, as well as its enduring maritime ties as the university itself marks a significant anniversary.

3. New film celebrates 200 years of LJMU in 90 seconds

   The film - LJMU 200 - celebrates the roots of the institution founded in 1823 and how it has become the modern university that it is today in its bicentenary year.

4. Free health and wellbeing merchandise for staff

   T-shirts, outerwear, mugs and water bottles are now available to help staff get talking and thinking about their health and wellbeing.

5. Free winter flu jabs for staff

   As part of our commitment to employee wellbeing, we are again offering staff vouchers for a free winter flu jab.

6. Research active staff urged to join focus groups

   Research active staff are being invited, by the LJMU Concordat Steering Group, to participate in a focus group on the research environment and culture at LJMU.

7. Staff encouraged to attend Freshers Fair 2023

   Your invite to the fair, info for exhibitors and free student transport to and from the event.

8. Academic Staff Governor vacancy

   The Secretariat is now seeking expressions of interest from eligible candidates for the position of Academic Staff Governor to serve on the Board of Governors.

9. Positive response to Actus staff development platform

   There has been an extremely positive response from staff to the introduction of Actus, our new system to support development and performance.

10. Your LJMU, Your Voice: staff survey findings

    The results of the Your LJMU, Your Voice staff survey reveal that employees consider LJMU to be a good place to work but there are clear areas for improvement. More than 1,400 staff – over 53% of our workforce – took part in the survey in May to help the university learn more about the experience of working here.
