2. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

3. Lockdown 2.0: Is time flying towards Christmas?

   One in four of us have experienced time as moving faster or slower than normal since the COVID pandemic began.

4. World Menopause Day: LJMU hosts first 'Café' discussion

   LJMU is to hold its first Menopause Café to break down the taboo around menopause and to increase awareness of its impact.

5. Staff event at Student Life Building

   Our next staff open day at the Student Life Building takes place on Wednesday 24 November, with networking opportunities, a chance to find out more about the building and its services, plus a free lunch.

6. Great apes predicted to lose 90% of African homelands, study finds

   A triple-whammy of climate change, land-use change and human population growth is set to decimate the habitats of Africas great apes gorillas, chimpanzees and bonobos over the coming 30 years.

8. LJMU Religion & Belief Workshops “Understanding religious diversity of our students and staff community”

   LJMUs Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with Zia Chaudhry (Director of LJMU Foundation for Citizenship), Zane Abdo (LJMU Muslim Adviser/Chaplin), Rabbi Natan Fagleman (LJMU Jewish Chaplain), Hannah Padfield (LJMU Anglican Chaplain), Father Neil Ritchie (LJMU Catholic Chapain) and other external consultants in order to offer LJMU Staff (& Students*), the opportunity to participate in a bespoke, half day Religion & Belief workshop.

9. International learning experience at Virtual Global Citizens Conference 2020

   Delegates from all round the world participated in the LJMU Virtual Global Citizens Conference between 11-12 November 2020. They discussed seven adapted UN Sustainable Development Goals.

10. LJMU Marks National Inclusion Week (2020)

    National Inclusion Week runs from the 28th Sep - 4th Oct 2020 and gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to inclusion in and outside of the LJMU community.
