1. The evolution of large-bodied dinosaurs

   Scientists from LJMU, working with external researchers, have developed examine the evolutionary history of sauropod dinosaurs using computer models.

2. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

3. LJMU earns environmental recognition

   LJMU has been recognised for its environmental initiatives on campus following an external inspection.

4. New website course search function

   This week marks the launch of an exciting new development to our website. A project group have been working with an external agency (Sagittarius) to improve the course search function.

5. All You Need is GaP

   Just a reminder that all externally funded projects must be both registered (a GaP project created) and costed on our Grants and Projects (GaP) system from 1st July 2020.

6. LJMU to launch climate and sustainability research institute

   LJMU is to launch a new research institute to bring together and accelerate world-leading research around climate and sustainability.

7. Professional Services Conference 2019

   Registration is open for the 2019 Professional Services Conference, being held on Thursday 27th June in the Redmonds building. This year’s theme is “Leadership Matters” with a focus on resilience, health and wellbeing.

8. University Seal request form update

   The Secretariat has updated the request form to incorporate the additional stages of approval required from colleagues in finance and legal.

9. Add the pronunciation of your name to your email signature

   NameCoach software has been integrated with LJMU systems to help users add name pronunciations at the bottom of email signatures.

10. Liverpool John Moores University announces new Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive

    The Board of Governors of Liverpool John Moores University have appointed Professor Ian Campbell to lead the institution as the next Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive.
