   As part of the Students at the Heart conference, LJMU organised a special Bicentenary celebration room to highlight 200 years of LJMU and celebrate our history.

   If you get or buy a new phone for Christmas or over the winter break, you’ll need to register your new device so that you still access your LJMU account.

4. New Pavilion now open

   Your fantastic new Pavilion at Aldham Robarts Library is now open.

5. Outreach programme takes pupils to London

   Local school children have visited University College London (UCL) as part of an LJMU widening access programme. Access All Areas is an initiative from LJMU’s Outreach team which arranged the first university exchange for year 11 pupils.

6. In memoriam: His Honour Dr David Lynch

   LJMU is deeply saddened by the death of His Honour Dr David Lynch who had been a part of the fabric of the university and School of Law for over 50 years.

7. Apply to study abroad

   Applications for LJMU’s study abroad programme are now open. Students can apply to spend either one semester or an academic year abroad at one of LJMU’s partner institutions across the globe.

8. DNA-study shows the Guanches originated from North Africa

   The aboriginal inhabitants of the Canary Islands, commonly known as the Guanches, originated from North Africa. A team of international researchers has now confirmed.

9. Campaign highlights the success stories of first in their family students to attend university

   Among the 100 people featured in the campaign is Malik Al Nasir, an author, poet and academic from Liverpool who studied new media production at LJMU.

10. Training: Supporting students from Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boater communities
