1. Award-winning Intern Programme supports young people with additional needs

   LJMU has been given a Best Partnership Working Award by Liverpool City Council for the university’s ‘Intern to Work’ project.

2. Support for transgender and non-binary students

   We now have dedicated information on our student support webpages, for transgender and non-binary students, to find out how to get help and support while at university, as well as requesting a name change via LJMU.

3. Staff networks explored, explained and celebrated

   Staff recently came together to celebrate the power of staff networks in the workplace and to mark the launch of the Admin and PA Staff Network.

4. Masters in Art and Design Degree Show: Class of 2020 show their enterprise

   Around 40 students will exhibit their ideas from MA courses in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Illustration, Art in Science, Fashion Innovation and Realisation and Exhibition Studies.

5. Menopause cafes throughout 2024

   This year we will once again host four menopause cafes for our staff, with the first taking place on Tuesday 16 January, and anyone wishing to attend can book via the staff wellbeing events page.

6. DaDaFest: The artistic flair to effect social change

   The HR team at Liverpool Business School are Project Evaluators for DaDaFest. Our role as project evaluators is to conduct a systematic assessment of the ongoing work at DaDaFest over three years. This role is a critical part of DaDaFest Paul Hamlyn award.

7. Apply to study abroad

   Applications for LJMU’s study abroad programme are now open. Students can apply to spend either one semester or an academic year abroad at one of LJMU’s partner institutions across the globe.

8. New Teaching and Learning Academy policies

   Two new policies will support teaching staff in their development through peer exchange and direct observation.

9. Fuelling the Lionesses: how research is changing nutrition practice and culture within the women’s game

   Two recent studies, focused specifically on elite female players, conducted by LJMU's Research Institute of Sports and Exercise Sciences (RISES), are helping the national the team to better understand the nutritional requirements of their female players.

10. Student Life and Sports Building win Best New Build Project award

    LJMU’s Copperas Hill development has won an award for the Best New Build Project at the Merseyside Civic Design Awards.
