1. Five things for our new students to do before they arrive

   As more students confirm their places at LJMU and we prepare for clearing, here’s five essential things we’ll be encouraging our new students to do as soon as possible.

2. Students at the Heart Conference 2023: submission deadline extended

   The Students at the Heart Conference 2023 submission deadline has been extended until 9am, Monday 13 March to allow more time for staff and students to make a submission, to present at the conference.

3. National Teaching Fellowship awarded to Dr Craig Hammond

   LJMUs Dr Craig Hammond, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education, has been recognised for his outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession in higher education, with a National Teaching Fellowship.

4. Over 500 staff and students attend Students at the Heart Conference 2023

   Covering everything from AI to alumni, 70 plus sessions were delivered by 200 staff and students across the two-day event.

5. Update to IT services: IT disruption expected Saturday 24 August

   As part of LJMU security upgrades, key platforms including Canvas, Staff Infobase and parts of the LJMU website will be unavailable on 24 August.

6. Get involved with the Great British Beach Clean

   Friday 20 September from 10am to 11.30pm at West Kirby beach.

7. Building opening times and support over the winter break

   As semester one draws to a close and we get ready for the winter break, please see LJMU’s opening times for building opening times and student support over the coming weeks.

8. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

9. Career Tips: How to make the most out of the Final Year Support and Jobs Fair

   The Final Year Support and Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 21 February from 11am to 2pm at the Student Life Building and is aimed at final year students who want to get a head start on graduation and take care of their next steps. These are our tips on how to make the most of the fair.
