2. Judges say student will inspire others

   An ‘inspirational’ student midwife at LJMU has been awarded Student Midwife of the year award at The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Annual Midwifery Awards 2016.

3. Congratulations - we walked around the world 12 times in only 100 days!

   This is the fourth consecutive year that LJMU has enjoyed 100 days of stepping and wellbeing - with 78 teams taking part between 23 May and 30 August 2018.

4. UK’s first dedicated housebuilding degree

   LJMU’s Department of Built Environment, in partnership with Redrow and Coleg Cambria, have established the UK’s first dedicated Housebuilding Degree.

5. Events across LJMU to celebrate International Women's Day 2023

   LJMU is proud to be supporting this year’s International Women’s Day theme #EmbraceEquity, with a selection of events open to all staff and students, happening across the University over the next two months

   Final-year creative writing student Kayla Marsh sat down with seven members of staff to discuss their ‘Reading Rivers’ – from the books never finished to the books that evoked tears.

   Six LJMU Honorary Fellows have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2017.

8. Support for transgender and non-binary students

   We now have dedicated information on our student support webpages, for transgender and non-binary students, to find out how to get help and support while at university, as well as requesting a name change via LJMU.

9. Joint staff and student project wins digital privacy award

   LJMU has won an award at the PICCASO Privacy Awards Europe 2023 for a Privacy and Digital Security project created by staff and students.

10. Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day 2023

    LJMU is marking both Reserves Day (Wednesday 21 June) and Armed Forces Day (Saturday 24 June) as part of its pledge to support the Armed Forces community under the Armed Forces Covenant.
