1. Costis to advise Public Health England on COVID impacts

   Costis Maganaris, of the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, has been appointed a COVID-19 advisor to Public Health England.

2. Academic Registry invigilation training

   Training sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams throughout April and will cover the main aspects of the role of invigilators, including responsibilities prior to, during and following the completion of the examination.

3. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

   From this month LJMU will begin publishing all student and staff security card photos into Microsofts 365 suite of products.

4. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

5. US soccer sport scientist shares insight from across the pond

   LJMU graduate, doctoral researcher and US Soccer sport scientist Patrick Mannix shared his expert insight with students as he returned to his educational roots in the city.

6. Gamma-ray burst captured in unprecedented detail

   An international team including LJMU and led by University of Maryland has constructed one of the most detailed descriptions of a gamma-ray burst to date.

7. New global opportunities portal

   The LJMU Global Opportunities Team is delighted to announce the launch of a new Global Opportunities Portal. This portal has been developed in-house by the LJMU ITS Team to offer a better user experience to our students seeking new experiences abroad.

8. Malaysia Graduation 2018

   LJMU has established strong relationships in South East Asia, and a mark of this success is the annual graduation of students in Malaysia.
