3. Staff Sharepoint migration

   IT Services has started the process of migrating all of our on-premise SharePoint and shared drives (JT2) to either Microsoft Teams or SharePoint Online.

4. Update on university coronavirus recovery plans

   We are working to reassure everyone at LJMU about the measures we are putting in place to protect all of our staff and students.

5. £4k raised so far through NSS

   Final year students have raised £4,000 for charity so far, by completing the National Student Survey.

6. Make a difference for The Whitechapel Centre

   For the last two years we have been involved in the Whitechapel Christmas Appeal and thanks to you all donating an amazing amount of gifts, you helped make Christmas special for The Whitechapel Centre clients. We are delighted to be supporting the initiative again and hope that you're are all feeling as generous as in previous years.

7. LJMU partnering in major police fatigue study

   The National Police Wellbeing Service has been awarded funding to conduct a study of their sleep fatigue and recovery biometrics programme in partnership with LJMU.

8. Curator joins LJMU for curating the web research project

   Curator joins LJMU's School of Art and Design Exhibition Research Lab for a 12 month research project.

9. Astronomers catch Tatooine multiple star system as it forms

   For the first time astronomers, including Dr Richard Parker, of the Astrophysics Research Institute at LJMU, have caught a multiple-star system as it is created, and their observations are providing new insight into how such systems, and possibly the solar system, are formed. The amazing images taken from a series of telescopes on Earth show clouds of gas which are in the process of developing into stars.

10. Honorary Fellowship: Simon Kirby
