1. Joint staff and student project wins digital privacy award

   LJMU has won an award at the PICCASO Privacy Awards Europe 2023 for a Privacy and Digital Security project created by staff and students.

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. 4. Vice Chancellor hosts former Education Secretary at LJMU

   Justine Greening, former Secretary of State for Education visited Mark Power, Vice Chancellor (interim), this week to discuss LJMUs successful track record prioritising social mobility and inclusion.

5. Call for submissions: Teaching and Learning Conference 2020

   This year's conference will take place on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June and submissions are now invited from staff and students and collaborative partner institutions, as well as other colleagues working in post-16 education.

7. ITV invites students to work on hit medical drama Maternal

   Film, media and writing students work up to two months in partnership with ITV and Liverpool Film School

8. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

9. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

10. University welcomes new students

    St George’s Hall will again play host to a special event organised by LJMU to welcome new full-time undergraduates to the University and the city of Liverpool.
