1. Cost of living: non repayable payments for students

   We’re reminding you of all the support available across the university from non-repayable payments, to help with your energy bills, to discounts and freebies across the university.

   Our current Home Computing Loan scheme for staff will come to a close in December, ahead of the launch of a brand new scheme in the new year.

4. Students and residents tackle obesity with community cookbook

   Residents from Kirkby in Knowsley and LJMU Nutrition students have created a brand-new cookbook with a Mediterranean-inspired diet to help try and curb the issue of obesity and its associated health risks, such as fatty liver disease

   The Employment Committee has recently approved a new diversity and inclusion policy and guidance document, as well as amendments to an existing policy.

   LJMU astrophysicist works with European Southern Observatory and collaborators to confirm Milky Way-like galaxy from 700m years after Big Bang

7. Supporting reconciliation in Cyprus through the recovery of war missing

   Families in Cyprus have been able to finally lay their relatives to rest thanks to a humanitarian project involving anthropologists from LJMU who have recovered and identified remains from multiple war graves.

8. Woman’s skeleton shines light on early peopling of the New World

   A FEMALE skeleton found in Mexico has strengthened the theory that humans originally reached the American continent from different points of origin.

9. Gregory Lip honoured in US

   Professor Lip is close collaborator with the Faculty of Health, the School of Sport & Exercise Science and the School of Computing & Mathematics.

10. In memoriam: His Honour Dr David Lynch

    LJMU is deeply saddened by the death of His Honour Dr David Lynch who had been a part of the fabric of the university and School of Law for over 50 years.
