1. Register for the Students at the Heart Conference 2024

   Staff and students can now register to attend the conference, with various workshops and sessions taking place across the two days, in the Redmonds and Student Life buildings, on LJMU campus.

2. Come and cheer on Team LJMU at the 2024 Lord Mayor's Dragon Boat Race

   LJMU are the main sponsor of this years’ event and three staff teams will compete on Sunday 12 May.

3. Young artist awarded first Liverpool Biennial and LJMU Fellowship

   Rosa Johan Uddoh is the first artist to receive the Liverpool Biennial Fellowship founded by Liverpool John Moores University.

   LJMU and JMSU have a range of support available if you are struggling with covering basic expenses such as food, housing and bills. Plus there's an array of discounts and giveaways across campus.

5. New date for staff event raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   Staff are invited to an event on Wednesday 14 December from 10am to 11am at Exchange Station (Room 1 & 2), where they can find out more about how we're supporting those impacted by domestic abuse.

6. Homeless: the human cost of austerity

   LJMU’s Public Health Institute and Library Services hosted an art exhibition to raise awareness of issues faced by homeless people in the city

7. Cost of living: non repayable payments for students

   We’re reminding you of all the support available across the university from non-repayable payments, to help with your energy bills, to discounts and freebies across the university.

8. Could your team offer a work experience placement?

   Our work experience programme is looking for expressions of interest from staff and teams across the university for a Year 10 pupil to undertake a placement within your department.

9. How AR technology could transform flood risk understanding and build resilience in the face of climate change

   Communities affected by flooding, and agencies responsible for managing flood risk, have had a first look at new Augmented Reality (AR) technology which shows the extent of future flood risk in their neighbourhoods.

10. Dr Alan Bury recognised for twenty year contribution to maritime education

    Dr Alan Bury, Senior Teaching Fellow from the School of Engineering has been awarded the Merchant Navy Medal for Meritorious Service by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.
