4. LJMU Journalism students get mentorship from industry pros

   LJMU final-year undergraduate students specialising in Journalism and Sports Journalism team up with pros from the John Schofield Trust, getting personal mentors, cool masterclasses, and networking opportunities.

5. Your new Academic Staff Governor Caroline Wilkinson

   Following a fortnight-long election period, Caroline received the majority of votes out of the eight self-nominated candidates and will now serve on the Board for the next three years.

6. Students at the Heart Conference 2023: Celebrating 200 years of LJMU

   As part of the Students at the Heart conference, LJMU organised a special Bicentenary celebration room to highlight 200 years of LJMU and celebrate our history.

7. Academic Staff Governor Elections

   Following the call for nominations, eight candidates are standing for election, with the election period opening on Monday 5 June and running until Monday 19 June.

8. Additional workshops available for leaders and managers

   The Organisational Development teams’ LJMU Leadership Enhancement And Development (LEAD) programme has added another two workshop sessions.

9. LJMU developing climate institute

   LJMU is developing proposals to launch our own climate institute and we want to involve staff who can help it make an impact.

10. LJMU presented with silver award for support of the Armed Forces community

    The university was celebrated alongside other Northwest-based organisations for its commitment to the Armed Forces community at the Defence Relationship Management (DRM) Merseyside Silver Awards 2023.
