1. New social media policy

   The university has launched its new social media policy to help staff get the most out of their communications and to stay safe.

5. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

6. New LGBT+ Research Hub

   New LGBT+ Reserach Hub for staff at LJMU.

7. New approach to degree apprenticeships

   LJMU is developing a new, more efficient process to manage our degree apprenticeship programmes.

8. Honorary Fellows: Gillian Miller and Kevin Fearon

   Read the oration for Gillian Miller and Kevin Fearon on the award of their Honorary Fellowships from LJMU, the University's highest honour.

9. New entrepreneur discovery competition

   LJMU is hosting the local heat of a new entrepreneur discovery competition, open to all University alumni and students. The Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses and FSB Connect are running the competition to give budding entrepreneurs a financial boost and raise their profile.

10. New role to lead LiRICS

    In line with its Climate Action Plan, LJMU has confirmed additional strategic investment in a new role to lead the Liverpool Research Institute for Climate and Sustainability (LiRICS).
