1. Get 'Too Good to Go' food from Core Cafes

   To further help with the Cost of Living and as part of our commitment to sustainability at LJMU, we’re launching the Too Good to Go app for students and staff this September.

2. What's happening this Summer in Liverpool?

   If you're staying around Liverpool this summer, there's no shortage of events to get involved in. Postgrad graduate Izzy rounds up some highlights happening across the city and key dates to add to your diary.

3. Future Fortnight: 28 February to 11 March – open to all students

   Join the Student Futures team for a series of events helping you think about your future goals. The sessions are friendly, open to students from any programme or year group and will help you gain clarity on your next steps.

4. Psychology student Charlotte and her Discovery Internship experience

   Discovery Internships are open for applications now until 4 December for second and final year students. Psychology student Charlotte Ilderton explains why she applied to complete an internship alongside her studies at LJMU and how you can too.

5. Register for the Students at the Heart Conference 2024

   Staff and students can now register to attend the conference, with various workshops and sessions taking place across the two days, in the Redmonds and Student Life buildings, on LJMU campus.

6. Summer building opening times

   LJMU will move to its summer building opening hours from Monday 24 June.

7. LJMU hosts first ever Para Pentathlon training day in the UK

   25 Athletes from across the UK attended the first ever Para Laser Sport training event at LJMU’s Sport Building this week.

8. Induction September 2024 update

   As the whole university looks towards the beginning of the next standard academic year, this all staff update offers an overview of the work being undertaken to register and welcome our new students.

9. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

    Students can sign up for Freshers 22 activities or staff can make a group booking for their programme.
