1. Menopause cafes to take place in person throughout 2023

   To keep conversations moving forward around the menopause, dates in January, April, July and October 2023 have been set for the next four menopause cafes.

2. Pensions and financial planning support for staff

   A series of support and information sessions will be available to LJMU staff over the coming weeks to find out more about pensions and financial planning.

   Applications for the ‘Nia’ development programme 2023 are now open to ethnically diverse staff at LJMU.

4. Exciting events at our new Student Life Building this month!

   Our brand new Student Life Building is open and to celebrate all our students being back on campus weve got lots of FREE and exciting activities planned for induction week (W/C 20th September).

5. Dance soiree to explore ‘Growing Old in the Soviet Union’

   Participants are invited to watch a 30-minute dance following the life trajectory of two Soviet citizens and then to give views about ageing and older people as part of an LJMU History and Wellcome Trust project.

6. Academic Registry training sessions February to July 2023

   There are still many staff training opportunities available this academic year, through to the end of July 2023, covering a range of topics.

7. Staff survey about online teaching during COVID

   Students at Liverpool School of Art and Design are asking staff to complete a short survey about their experience of online teaching during the pandemic.

8. New PhD scholarships and thematic pathway to boost Research support

   The Bicentennial Vice-Chancellor PhD scholarships are now open

9. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

10. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

    LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.
