1. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

2. North West Higher Education Action Learning Programme

   LJMU are offering up to ten places for women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region.

4. Our LJMU community celebrating Ramadan

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

5. New Academic Achievement teaching resources

   Each of these resources is a standalone academic skills class accompanied by a full lesson plan with teaching notes.

6. Health and safety code of practice updates

   Two of our health and safety codes of practice and have updated and can be accessed on the Policy Centre.

7. New ES1 form available for managers

   The Finance team has recently updated the ES1 form used to assess contractors against HMRCs off-payroll working rules (sometimes called IR35).

8. Researchers urged to share their experiences

   Colleagues are currently running the Culture, Employment and Development in Academic Research Survey (CEDARS) to harness your views, and to understand your experiences and needs as a researcher at LJMU.

9. Staff Sharepoint migration

   IT Services has started the process of migrating all of our on-premise SharePoint and shared drives (JT2) to either Microsoft Teams or SharePoint Online.

10. Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions take LJMU to Northern Ireland

    Academics, professional service staff and students travelled to Belfast for a recent university applicant day.
