1. University Seal request form update

   The Secretariat has updated the request form to incorporate the additional stages of approval required from colleagues in finance and legal.

2. New professors and readers at LJMU

   Dozens of LJMU staff are celebrating after becoming professors and readers following our rigorous conferment process.

3. New ES1 form available for managers

   The Finance team has recently updated the ES1 form used to assess contractors against HMRCs off-payroll working rules (sometimes called IR35).

4. Advance HE Aurora Programme 202223 applications open

   Applications are now being taken from LJMU staff for the Advance HE Aurora Programme

5. Aurora Women's Leadership Programme reopens to applicants

   More places are available on the Advance HE Aurora Womens Leadership Programme.

6. European Grant to help our understanding of how galaxies form

   Professor Nate Bastian, Head of Research at the Astrophysics Research Institute and Royal Society University Research Fellow, has been awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant.

7. Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students open for applications

   The second round of paid Discovery Internships this semester are open until midnight on Sunday 17 December 2023. Interviews will take place before the end of January 2024 and the internships will begin from early February 2024 (start dates may vary for each role).

10. Applications for Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students now open

    The final round of paid Discovery Internships for this academic year, which are all sustainability themed, are open for applications now from second and final year (level 5 and 6) students.
