3. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

4. July is Disability Pride Month

   July marks the celebration of Disability Pride month. An opportunity to raise awareness and have positive conversations about disability in study and the workplace.

5. Global Active Cities project shortlisted for THE International Collaboration award

   An LJMU spearheaded initiative to increase physical activity within cities across the globe has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award.

6. Changes in Core Café opening times: Tuesday 31 October

   Due to the passing of one of LJMU’s much loved catering team members, there will be several changes to Core Café opening hours across the day on Tuesday 31 October

7. Introducing the JMSU Student Officer team 2024/25

   Four new student officers are now in post for the 2024/2025 academic year to represent the 27,000 students at LJMU.

8. Students at the Heart Conference 2023: Celebrating 200 years of LJMU

   As part of the Students at the Heart conference, LJMU organised a special Bicentenary celebration room to highlight 200 years of LJMU and celebrate our history.

9. Schoolgirl researchers visit world-class sport science labs

   The year 9 pupils from Liverpool's Holly Lodge Girls College spent two days working alongside world-class scientists in physiology, biomechanics and sport and exercise psychology, as well as current LJMU students, to gain expert insight into sport science research methodology.

10. Background should be no obstacle to careers in Law!

    The Law Factor initiative is aimed specifically at increasing the diversity of young people who study and ultimately practice law.
