1. International Women's Day - Tuesday 8 March

   This year's International Women's Day theme is #BreakTheBias and Ambar Ennis, VP Community and Wellbeing at JMSU and Julia Daer, EDI Advisor discuss what this means to them.

2. Schoolgirl researchers visit world-class sport science labs

   The year 9 pupils from Liverpool's Holly Lodge Girls College spent two days working alongside world-class scientists in physiology, biomechanics and sport and exercise psychology, as well as current LJMU students, to gain expert insight into sport science research methodology.

3. Care experienced girls and young women still at risk of unnecessary criminalisation

   Girls and women who have been through the care system should be diverted away from custodial sentences into community alternatives wherever possible, says a new report published today (Weds 4 May 2022). And the study adds that moves to prevent the criminalisation of girls in care need to be high on the agenda for change.

4. Let's Make! Upcycled Christmas Jumpers

   To help you get into the festive spirit, the Environmental Sustainability and Energy team and Staff Wellbeing Team at LJMU are holding an upcycling workshop where you can transform an old garment into a Christmas jumper or t-shirt!

5. Disabled Researchers Network Project 'Community and Connection' event

   LJMU staff and postgraduate research students are warmly invited to the next Disabled Researchers Network project event, 'Community and Connection', on 25th July (online).

6. Make Do and Mend Workshop

   Come along to our make do and mend workshop where you can learn how to do basic repairs to your clothing.

7. Recycle Week: Waste Seminar

   Recycle Week is an annual campaign by Recycle Now to encourage better recycling in the UK. The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team are holding a number of events to educate and encourage positive behaviours around waste throughout the week.

8. Faculty of Engineering and Technology Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair

   The Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair takes place on Thursday 10 October 2024, featuring 70+ employers from across all courses and disciplines in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
