1. New library services website launched

   The LJMU Library website has had a major refresh over summer and has launched this week ready for the new academic year.

2. Update to IT services: IT disruption expected Saturday 24 August

   As part of LJMU security upgrades, key platforms including Canvas, Staff Infobase and parts of the LJMU website will be unavailable on 24 August.

3. LJMU earns environmental recognition

   LJMU has been recognised for its environmental initiatives on campus following an external inspection.

4. student voice season

   Today is the start of Student Voice Season, which is an opportunity for you to give feedback on your course experience at LJMU.

5. Reflecting on honest conversations about race and equality

   Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Power and one of his reciprocal mentors, Labour MP for Liverpool, Riverside, Kim Johnson, reflect on some of their discussions over the past 18 months; how their upbringing has shaped them into who they are today, if Reciprocal Mentoring works and what learnings they will take with them beyond the programme.

6. LJMU Climate Research Institute

   Staff are invited to attend a second workshop focussed on the proposed LJMU Climate Research Institute. It follows the successful design sprint session held in December, in which colleagues with research interests in the area met to begin scoping out the planned institute.

7. First look at the new student social spaces

   Take a look at the new student social spaces, the first two spaces - in John Foster and Redmonds Buildings - are now complete.

8. Four useful apps for new students to download

   My LJMU, Canvas, Outlook and the Microsoft Authenticator apps are essential for all new students.

9. Your LJMU Your Voice

   We have launched an exercise to learn about your experiences of working at the university.
