1. Getting to grips with all things IT

   If you're new to LJMU, or if you're returning to studies but have forgotten things over the break, just take a look at our new guide brought to you by our very helpful IT team.

2. Get free IT kit through Laptop and Recycled IT schemes

   Students can apply for a free laptop or recycled IT kit through the IT support schemes.

3. IT drop-in sessions

   IT Services is running a series of drop-in classroom display and audio technology introduction/refresher sessions

4. Looking after your safety: update for our students

   Over the summer months LJMU has made a number of important changes to further improve the safety and wellbeing of all our students

5. New arrangements for AV support

   We have a new system in place to support you in using audio visual and display technology in our teaching spaces.

6. Restrictions on using USBs

   From Monday 4 September, students will no longer be able to use USB storage devices on LJMU computers, laptops and other IT equipment.

7. Update to IT services: IT disruption expected Saturday 24 August

   As part of LJMU security upgrades, key platforms including Canvas, Staff Infobase and parts of the LJMU website will be unavailable on 24 August.

8. IT upgrades coming your way

   During the summer, IT services will be delivering an upgrade to Microsoft Office and Google Chrome will become the default browser.

9. Fault reporting processes for the new academic year

   As the new academic year begins and our campus becomes busy once more, staff are reminded to ensure that all faults are reported via the respective Helpdesks.

10. Email account improvements

    IT Services will soon be migrating staff email accounts to provide us with greater security, increased storage limits and easier accessibility.
